Worship, Witness, and Service

These are the foundational pillars for our archdiocese, as identified by Archbishop Richard Smith in his 2024 pastoral letter Living in the Word. Growing as a synodal and pastoral Church, we are translating these pillars into action through our 2024-2027 Pastoral Priorities. Be It Done: Living in the Word is the theme.

Sunday, June 1, 2025 Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ

The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Mt 28:16-20). More on The Ascension.

Sunday, June 8, 2025 Solemnity of Pentecost - The Gift of the Holy Spirit

On the Feast of Pentecost, Christians commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, gathered around the Mother of the Lord (Acts chapter 2). The feast is celebrated on the 50th and final day of the Easter season. "No one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit." (1 Corinthians 12). Did you know that the feast of Pentecost is often referred to as the birthday of the Church? Discover more about PentecostThe Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit and The 12 Fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Sunday, June 15, 2025 Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity - Holy Trinity Sunday

“The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith and life. It is the mystery of God in Himself. It is therefore the source of all the other mysteries of faith, the light that enlightens them.  It is the most fundamental and essential teaching in the ‘hierarchy of the truths of faith.’”

Fatima prayer by the Angel of Portugal

“Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly, and I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for all the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences by which He Himself is offended. And by the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners.”
